Configuration for Chromebook

Currently there is no native Chromebook app, however Perimeter 81 can be configured manually.

  1. Log in to your Chrome device.
  2. Click the status bar at the bottom right of your desktop.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Under Network section, click Add connection and select Add OpenVPN/L2TP.
  5. Select Add private network and enter the following information in the dialogue box:

    Server hostname: Open your Perimeter81 Management Platform; Go to Network tab and choose Your Servers; Copy the desired DNS (appears in the red box in the illustration) and paste it in the Server hostname field

    Service Name: Choose whatever name you find suitable

    Provider type: Select L2TP/IPsec + Pre-shared key

    Pre-shared key: Enter SaferVPN2017

    Server CA certificate: Select Default

    User certificate: Select None installed

    Username and Password: Enter your Manual VPN Keys as your Username and Password in the matching fields

    Please note that only your company manager can issue manual VPN keys (for further instructions here: How to create Manual VPN Keys)

    Other field are to be left blank.

  6. Click Connect.
